MOUNT CARMEL — New and returning faces were sworn in on Tuesday at the November meeting of Mount Carmel Board of Mayor and Aldermen. Mayor Gary Lawson returned for a fourth term in the town’s top spot, while Alderman Carl Wolfe was sworn in for a second consecutive term. Newly-elected Aldermen William Blakely and Kathy Roberts were welcomed to the board as newcomers. The two new aldermen replace vice-mayor Eugene Christian who did not win his reelection bid in November, as well as Alderman Wanda Worley-Davidson, who chose not to seek reelection. However, Worley will continue her role as the director of Mount Carmel Senior Citizens Center. Alderman Thomas Wheeler was appointed to the position of vice-mayor. Other new appointments will be made in December.
