ROGERSVILLE - Two women were transported to Hawkins County Memorial Hospital Monday evening after suffering injuries in a collision at the intersection of Highway 11W and Old Highway 11W across from Marble Hall. According to Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Billy Collier, Donna Dunbar, 44, Rogersville, was driving her black, 1997 Mercury Mountaineer northbound on 11W when the dark green, 2004 Nissan Titan driven by Shon Tilson, 30, Rogersville, turning onto Old Highway 11W, crossed into her path. Collier said Dunbar tried to avoid the truck, but could not, and the impact caused a second collision between the two vehicles. The Hawkins County Rescue Squad helped remove Dunbar and a female passenger, name not available, from the Mercury. They were transported by Hawkins County EMS to the hospital. Tilson, walking under his own power at the scene, was transported by a family member to the hospital. Volunteer firefighters from Lakeview Fire Department helped at the scene. Collier said Tilson was being charged with failure to yield and for a drivers licence address violation.
