BULLS GAP — A tractor-trailer, seen at right in the photo, struck a utility pole in Bulls Gap shortly after midnight Friday causing a power outage.
The impact caused severe damage to the pole and knocked out power to area residents.
The driver was reportedly attempting to turn the vehicle when the incident occurred.
The pole, located at the intersection of North Main Street (Highway 66) and Elmwood Avenue, had to be replaced. Holston Electric crews worked through the night, with power restored at approximately 6:30 a.m.
