BULLS GAP — A Bulls Gap woman was hospitalized after a one-car accident on Highway 66 South late Monday afternoon.
According to Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Jim Lee, Charlene Ratliff, 58, Quillen Avenue, Bulls Gap, was driving her 2006 Pontiac Grand Am GT on Highway 66 South around 4:30 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle near South Fork Road, crossed the center line and crashed into the embankment on the northbound side of the road and overturned.
Hawkins County Rescue Squad removed Ratliff from the flipped vehicle and she was transported by Hawkins County EMS to Holston Valley Hospital, where she remained overnight for treatment and observation.
“She has a couple of broken bones and cuts,” Lee said Monday evening, adding that injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
