ROGERSVILLE — When the summer is over the Cherokee High School
Lady Chiefs will not be the only Rogersville softball team to have competed in state.
Rogersville Parks and Recreation Department Director
Brice Lackey reported Friday morning the Under-12 Softball All-Stars from Rogersville have earned a
berth in next weekend's state tournament.
Friday at noon members of the team rode in a truck bed
during the Rogersville 4th of July parade. A sign on the side of the truck heralded the team's
accomplishment and another on the passenger side door had been signed by the members of the
team.
Morristown won the state title in
2007 and will host next weekend's state tournament for the 12-and-under teams.
Lackey said he would share a bracket with The Review upon
his receipt of the pairings.
