MOORESBURG --- Four Hawkins County teenagers benefited from a special tractor pull held Saturday.A benefit tractor pull by Posey’s Pulling Team was held at old Lakeview School to help defray expenses for four Hawkins County youths involved in a recent traffic accident on Beech Creek. The youths, Catlin Johnson, Whitney Gilliam, Rachel Gilliam and Emily Manis, have all since been released from area hospitals. They face rehabilitation and doctors' visits in the coming months.  According to Curtis Bean, assistant chief of Lakeview VFD, Johnson was in a coma for two weeks after the accident. One of the victims will be in a wheelchair for three months and will have to learn to walk again.  The fifth Saturday is usually an off night for the area tractor pullers, but pullers who compete in Orebank and Midway in Greene County, Kodak in Sevier County and Lakeview in Hawkins County, came out to show their support and to have a good time. “Two of the victims were my step-granddaughters,” Bean said, “We were just trying to do something to help with their expenses with them going back and forth to the doctor.  “Jody wanted to have a pull and he said we would put one on. He is putting it on; we're just here to help. We've been worried all week that it would be too muddy to pull, but the track is in great shape. Actually, we had to wet the track earlier.” Upcoming tractor pulls are Wednesday, July 17 at the Jefferson County Fair in Jefferson City. Lakeview VFD will host their third Saturday pull on Saturday, July 20.  Weigh in is at 4 p.m. with pulling to begin at 5. The great weather made for great pulling in 20 divisions.
