MOUNT CARMEL - An
undercover and underage "beer sting" resulted in fines and a requirement the clerks at two Mount
Carmel businesses undergo training. The Mount Carmel Beer Board met Tuesday
and issued the penalties against Tri-City Wholesale Tobacco, and clerk Sheena Brewer, and Skipez,
and clerk Elizabeth Ann Jones. The two Mount Carmel businesses were part of a
countywide investigation into underage beer sales conducted in January and February of this
year. "I feel like the board was very lenient with both of you this time,"
Mount Carmel Mayor Larry Frost told representatives of both businesses. "If this comes before
us again I don't think the board will be as lenient."
