ROGERSVILLE - A Pastor's Unity Dinner is being planned by the group Expecting God's Help. The dinner will be held on Friday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Surgoinsville Middle School Cafeteria. The purpose of the meeting/dinner is to attempt to unify all Pastors of Hawkins County across all denominational lines as well as to explain the goals of the Expecting God's Help movement. Organizers have made attempts to contact every pastor in Hawkins County. "We have sent letters, sent emails, made phone calls and I have even hand delivered invitations for the dinner to several churches we could not contact otherwise" said Elizabeth Lewis, one of the EGH group members. The meal is being prepared and served by a group of volunteers who have been involved with many other EGH events. "We have asked Steve Collett, who has spoken at several of our Prayer Rallies, to come and speak to the Pastors. One of our group will then address the Pastors to explain the purpose of Expecting God's Help and how badly we need their involvement" said Stoney McLain, another of the EGH group members. "We need all our Pastors from the smallest church to the largest churches to attend this meeting and join us in our efforts" added Sue Thomas, another member of the group. Any Pastor wanting to attend, or for more information, call Elizabeth Lewis at (423) 293-0821. All Hawkins County Pastors and their wives are invited to attend this important meeting.
