ROGERSVILLE - Heritage Days is on its way, but so is the entry deadline for the Miss Heritage Days pageant.

Potential contestants who are interested in in participating this year should submit an entry form before next Friday, September 16.

Forms may be picked up at Given-Nelson Realty on Main Street in Rogersville or at Rogersville Heritage Association, located in the depot building at the corner of Broadway and Depot Streets.

Pageant organizer Melissa Nelson said, "The Miss Heritage Days Pageant is not just about pursuing external beauty, but it is a means of bringing out beauty in character through moral goodness and a virtuous lifestyle. Our goal for this pageant is to be a magical day for making childhood memories, family bonding, meeting new people and engaging in good sportsmanship while building self esteem."

Divisions in the contest will include Baby Miss (6-11 months), Wee Miss (1-3 years), Tiny Miss (4-6 years), Little Miss (7-9 years), Junior Miss (10-13 years), Teen Miss (14-16 years), and Miss Heritage Days (17-20 years).

There is a $40 fee to enter that includes beauty entry and eligibility for side awards including: Most Beautiful, Most Beautiful Smile, Most Beautiful Eyes, and Most Photogenic.

Those who plan to enter more than one child will be charged a $30 entrance fee for the second child and any subsequent children.

On the evening of the show, Saturday, September 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Rogersville Middle School Auditorium, audience admission will be $4 per person.  Contestants and one adult will enter free of charge. Children under age 5 are also free.

Those in the audience who bring three non-perishable canned food items will receive one dollar off of the regular admission price, per person.

All collected foods will be donated to Of One Accord Ministry Food Pantry.

For more information about the pageant, or how to enter, call Nelson at (423) 293-4272.
