ROGERSVILLE- According to the office of Ninth Judicial DistrictAttorney General Russell Johnson, Hawkins County Grand Jury hasreturned an indictment for the criminal charge of Official Misconductagainst former Assistant District Attorney Doug Godbee.
The case was presented to the grand jury on April 25 by Johnson after an investigation that spanned several months.
The charge of official misconduct is a Class E Felony with a sentence range of one to six years and a fine of up to $3,000.
Godbee was arrested May 2 and posted $10,000 bond the same day.According to the Johnson, a June 3 arraignment has been tentatively setin Hawkins County Criminal Court.
