John B. Nichols, age 72 of Rogersville, died Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. 

He attended Clinch Valley Church. Mr. Nichols was retired from Dodge Reliance as a plant comptroller. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Creed and Carrie Weston Nichols; sister, Shirley Thornhill.

He is survived by his wife, Joan  Nichols; daughter, Robin Pack and husband, William of Rogersville; son, Tim Nichols and wife, Beth of Gray; grandsons, John Russell Pack and Marcus Pack, both of Rogersville; sisters, Edith Kinsler and husband, Hugh Kyle of Sneedville, Ruth Hopkins of Sneedville, Sue Keller and husband, Bill of Morristown; brothers, Paul Nichols and wife, Ruth and Lester Nichols, both of OH; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday, August 18, 2008 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.  Funeral service will be conducted 7:00 P.M.,Monday, August 18, 2008 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Bussell and Rev. Junior Brown officiating.  Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 19, 2008 at  McKinney Cemetery.
