Patsy Burchfield Vaughn, 72, of Surgoinsville, went to be with the Lord and to join her beloved son, Jeffery, Thursday morning (Aug. 7, 2008) at the residence of her daughter, Patty Barton, following a courageous battle with cancer.
    She was a member of Long’s Bend Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a friend to all that knew her.
    She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery McNally; husbands, Charles Vaughn and Joney McNally; parents, Ernest and Ida Belle Burchfield; brothers, Ernest “Junior” Burchfield and Ted Burchfield.
    She is survived by her children, Patty Barton and husband, Curtis and Randy Vaughn and wife, Mary, all of Surgoinsville; grandchildren, Bridget Barton, Chelsea Barton, Jaime Vaughn, Brandi Vaughn, Carrie Vaughn and Celine “Rooster” McNally; step-granddaughter, Rachel Miles; step great-granddaughter, Nevada Miles; brothers, Jimmy Burchfield and Aubra Burchfield, both of Surgoinsville; several nieces and nephews; and a special thank you to her Adventa Hospice nurse, Doreen Meadows.  The family received friends anytime at Patsy’s residence and from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Colboch-Price Funeral Home.  Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Fain Arnold and Rev. Billy G. Wilder officiating. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Long’s Bend Cemetery.
