Audrey Yankee Garber

    Audrey Yankee Garber, 88, of Port Clinton, passed away, Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor.     
    Audrey was born on September 3, 1922, in Tennessee, the daughter of Fred and Aggie (Ward) Yankee.  
    On January 19, 1949 in Port Clinton, she married Irving Garber and he preceded her in death on 1987.  Audrey worked in sales at Leo Marks Jewelers and a hostess for Marina Del Isle.  In her earlier years she loved bowling and later she loved playing cards at the Port Clinton Senior Center.  She was a member of the Lady Moose, the American Legion and a life member of the Magruder Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
    Survivors include:  Son: Michael (Sharon) Garber; Daughter: Michelle (Jack) Woods;   Grandchildren: Adam Garber, Molly Yankee Garber, Brandon (Becky) Woods, Nicholas (Allison) Woods and Abram Woods.  Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and seven sisters.
    Burial will take place in North Fork Tennessee at a later date.  Memorial contributions in memory of Audrey may be given to the Ottawa County 4H Club, Stein Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.
