Paul Beach, 86, of Shelbyville, Indiana, passed away November 29, 2008. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on February 19, 1922.
Mr. Beach grew up in Toledo, Ohio, and played football for the University of Toledo before serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After the war, he graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in commerce and finance then worked for General Electric as Vice President of Finance for the Small Appliance Division. He had assignments in Zurich, Switzerland; Milan, Italy; and Istanbul, Turkey.
He was predeceased by his wife, Joanne; a daughter, Carrie Richter; and a brother, Chandler. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Annette Beach of Rogersville; son and daughter-in-law, Tad and Sarah of Lafayette, California; son-in-law, Scott Richter of Ellicott City, Maryland.
Surviving grandchildren include Whitney Pinkston, Elizabeth Beach, Nate Beach, Amy Richter, Heidi Richter, Julie Richter, and Emily Richter. Other family members are brother William of Alpena, Michigan, and sister, Betty Horkey of Toledo, Ohio. Funeral and graveside services were in Indiana.
