Ella Jo Bradley, a distinguished artist, groundbreaking educator, and loving wife and mother passed away Tuesday, November 18, at Johnson City Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
She is the daughter of the late Inez and John Leeper.
A graduate of Rogersville's Swift Memorial College and East Tennessee State University, Mrs. Bradley was a retired teacher with the Hawkins County School System following 37 years of service. She was a member of the Rogersville First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Andrew Thomas Bradley Jr.; daughters and sons, Andrea S. Bradley, Greeneville; Andrew T. Bradley III of Kingsport; Henry (Chyleen) Bradley of Manassas, Virginia; Sonji (Fred) Bennett of Knoxville; Michael (Betty) Bradley of Knoxville; and Tracy (Herman) Brown of Knoxville; grandchildren, Christin A. Bradley, Eric B. Richardson, Herman D. Brown Jr., Henry L. Bradley, Jr., Alanna L. Bradley, and Michael Keith Bradley, Jr. and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 21, 2008 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 21, 2008 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James W. Lindsay officiating.. Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.
