Virginia (Ginger) Ward age 73 of Surgoinsville passed away early Saturday  morning (11/15/2008) at Church Hill Life Care Center.  
    She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Surgoinsville.  
    She was preceded in death by her husband; George Ward, parents; Pat and Hattie Manis, brothers;  K.D., Kenneth, Richard, and Conner Manis, sisters; Rhea Waye, Azalee Jones, and Lorena Horne.
    She is survived by three sisters; Edna Caldwell and husband Charles of Church Hill, Eula Brown and husband Ulais of Surgoinsville, Sue Noe and husband Jim of Surgoinsville, two brothers; Billy Manis and wife Helen of Surgoinsville and Giles Manis and wife Virginia of Bradyville, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, an adopted  sister; Eva Grapperhaus of Church Hill Life Care Center and her daughter Jordan; special friend and roommate, Joyce Porter.
    Special thanks to the staff of Church Hill Health Care especially B. for all their support.  
    The family received friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Sunday (11/16/2008) at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville.  Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Jesse Hartgrove and the Rev. Ed Maynard officiating.  Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Monday (11/17/2008) at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.
