Sylvia Fields Wallace Roberts, age 93 of Greeneville, formerly
of Rogersville, passed away, Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Laughlin Healthcare Center following an
extended illness. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rogersville
and a native of Hawkins County. Mrs. Roberts preceded in death by her first
husband, Lige Wallace and second husband Elcer Roberts; parents, Ransy and Mollie Starnes
Fields, sisters, Vada Leonard and Blanche Ratliff. Survivors include one
sister, Mildred Williamson and husband, Don of Greeneville; two nieces, Lisa Dillard and husband,
Jim of Greeneville, Nancy Small and husband, Shane of Scottsboro, Alabama; two nephews, Don Ratliff
and wife, Loretta of Rogersville and Stan Williamson and wife, Anona of Knoxville and four step
children. Calling hours were 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008 at
Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville. Funeral service was conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, November
13, 2008 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Harley Brown officiating. Graveside service
was 11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2008 at Highland Cemetery A special thank you
from the family goes to Dr. E. B. Smith, Pam Crick and the staff of Laughlin Healthcare Center of
Greeneville for the excellent care they gave Mrs. Roberts. Broome Funeral
