Buck Edward LaRoy, age 74 of Rogersville, died Friday, November 7, 2008 at Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a life long resident of Hawkins County and a retired contractor-auto dealer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fate and Laura Lane LaRoy: brothers, Bill LaRoy and Kenneth LaRoy; and half-sister, Louise Reece.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Georgia Fulkerson LaRoy of the home; son, Tommy LaRoy and fiance' Sue Dishner of Rogersville; daughter, Laura LaRoy Moore and husband, Charles of Johnson City; one grandchild, Telia LaRoy Smith and husband, Jerome; one great grandchild Anna Smith; one brother, Rex LaRoy and wife, Carrie of Rogersville; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, November 10, 2008 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville. Funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Monday, November 10, 2008 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Gene Lasley, Rev. Billy LaRoy, Rev. Jamie Rogers and Rev. Glenn Richards officiating. Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Highland Cemetery.
