Juanita D. Spivey, 75 of Kingsport, was called home by the Lord on November 6, 2008.
Juanita was born July 14, 1933 to Velvo and Jess Davis in Rogersville. She worked at Eastman for 35 years and married Cecil Spivey. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Spivey, parents – Velvo and Jess Davis and brother Coy Davis.
Juanita is survived by daughter Mary and husband Steve Niddiffer of Kingsport; brother Roy and wife Bette Davis of Fairfield, California; brother Perry and wife Bonnie Davis of Rogersville; and brother Frankie and wife Wilma Davis of Rogersville; granddaughter Kristin Castle of Atlanta, Georgia; and step grandson Cody Niddiffer of Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews.
Juanita is also survived by her extended family of residents and staff of Wellington Place of Colonial Heights.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Wellington Place of Colonial Heights, Dr. Joel Gonce, the staff of Amedisis Hospice, the staff of Home Instead Senior Care and special friend Delores Collins.
Honorary pallbearers were: Frankie Davis, Perry Davis, Roy Davis, Steve Nidiffer, Larry Southam and Tom King.
A visitation service was held at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport on Saturday November 8, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral service followed at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Graveside service were held Sunday November 9, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Rogersville.
