Donny Wayne Alvis, age 56, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008 at his residence.
He was a member, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher at Norris First Baptist Church. Donny was a Team Leader at ORAU in Oak Ridge in the Facilities and Transportation Department. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, JB and Ruby Alvis; father-in-law, Charles Martin.
He is survived by: loving wife, Beverly Alvis of Clinton; children, Rebecca Graham and husband Paul of Clinton, Charles Alvis and wife Kristi of Clinton, John Alvis and wife Alicia of Andersonville, Jesse Alvis and wife Brandi of Andersonville; grandchildren, Kylee and Sadie Alvis, Samuel and Sunny Alvis and one expected granddaughter; brother, James “Jim” Alvis and wife Connie of Rogersville; sister Shirley Whitt and husband Jerry of Rogersville; mother-in-law, Marian Martin of Clinton; nieces, LeAnn and Julie; nephew, Bart.
The family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Norris First Baptist Church with funeral services following his visitation with Rev. David Seiber officiating. His burial will be 11 a.m., Thursday at the Allen family farm in Rogersville.
Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
