Donald Ray Glandon, age 71, of Rogersville, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. 
    He was a member of Caney Creek Baptist Church, Rogersville and formerly of Sevier Heights Baptist Church.  Don attended Rogersville High School and joined the United States Air Force in 1954 during the Korean Conflict.  He served with the Air Force for 4 years and joined the United States Navy in 1959 serving an additional 4 years in the military.  Don joined the Knoxville Fire Department in May 1966 and retired in February 1999 as Assistant Chief.  He was a member of the Scottish Rite of Knoxville.              Preceded in death by parents, Buddy and Dora Glandon and brother, Kenny Glandon. 
    Survivors include wife and sweetheart of 49 years, Wanda Fowler Glandon; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Donna Grigsby and Dr. Gary Grigsby of Lexington, Kentucky; beloved grandson, Charlie Grigsby; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Jim Hill; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Jean Fowler, Curtis and Elizabeth Fowler, Herman and Ruth Fowler, Marvin and Ann Fowler, Martin and Pat Fowler, George and Sonya Fowler; sister-in-law, Frances Fowler; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and Bill Prince; several nieces and nephews. 
    The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, with funeral service to follow at 7:30 p.m., Rev. Charlie McNutt, Chaplain Carl Ford and Chaplain Paul Trumpore officiating.  Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday and proceed to Highland Memorial Cemetery for 11 a.m. interment service. 
    Pallbearers will be Jim Hill, Michael Hill, Lance Chadwick, Martin Fowler, Randy Fowler and George Fowler.  Honorary pallbearers will be Retired Knoxville Firefighters.  Fire Department Honors will be conducted by The Knoxville Firefighters Honor Guard.
