Jannie Alice (Susie) Wallen

    Jannie Alice (Susie) Wallen, age 82, of Rogersville, passed away Tuesday October 9, 2012 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
    Susie was born in Rogersville on January 7, 1930, and lived in Rogersville her whole life where she was a homemaker. She was called Susie by her husband and most people she knew but she was also known as Sis by her family.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Omer Lorin Wallen, her parents, Chris and Vennie Lawson Kincer, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harley and Lura Tankersley Wallen, her sisters, Lucy Drinnon, Ruby Manis, her brothers, Carson, Henry and James Kincer, her son-in-law, Fred Yankee, her daughter-in-law, Peggy West Wallen, her granddaughter, Carmela Sue Haney, Her sisters-in-law, Elsie Davis, Edith (Dovie) Price, Ruth Winegar, Pauline Mowell, Cleo Kincer, Irene Kincer, brothers-in-law Hobert (Dale) Price, Clifton Wallen, Earl Mowell, Hank Winegar, Clarence (Doc) Manis,Walter Drinnon and Harold Wallen (whom she considered a son), and her five infant great- grandchildren, Wendy, Jonathon, Austin, Cody and Toni.
    She is survived by her daughter, Mary Frances Yankee, her daughters and sons-in-law,Brenda and Carman Haney of Rogersville, Phyllis and Pat McKenzie of Kingsport, her sons David, Marshall his companion, Margie Hurd and her grandchildren, C. J., Sissy and Isaih Hurd all of Rogersville, her sister, Elva and Ken Waller of Florida, her sisters-in-law, Valerie "Nora" of Georgia, Jeanetta Kincer, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Pud) Wallen, Carl and Stella Wallen, Joe and Nancy Wallen of Rogersville, Earl Davis of Virginia, her grandchildren, Melissa Frost of Greeneville, Crystal Mulkey, Carrie Haney of Rogersville, Alisa and Michael Quesenberry, Willie and Shelley McKenzie, Kay McKenzie of Kingsport, Rodney Wallen, Yvette and Greg Marcum of Rogersville, her great grandchildren, Kayla Bennett of Missouri, Randy and Megan Frost of Greeneville, Tristen Haney-Weems, Kasen, Connor and Abby Marcum of Rogersville, Tyrus, Trenton, Courtney, Christen, and Ciara McKenzie, Clay Pickering, Christian, Janie and Kody Justice of Kingsport,and her great-great grandchild, Jonathon Bennett of Missouri and several cousins, nieces and nephews also her special friends, Valice and Coy Jarvis, Pearl Manis and her many friends from Bethel Missionary Baptist Chrurch, where she was a member. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Amedisys Hospice, especially Gina Dean, Christine Williams, Sabrina Vancor and Rev. Garland Long for their great care of our mother.
    Calling hours were October 11, 2012 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.  Graveside service was October 12, 2012 at McKinney Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Neal Drinnon and the Rev. Mike Jones officiating
    Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville is serving the Wallen Family.
