Mabel L. Dykes Johnson

   Mabel L. Dykes Johnson, age 89, of Rogersville, went to eternal rest Thursday evening, February 4, 2010, at Signature Healthcare of Rogersville following an extended illness.
    She was a member of East Rogersville Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching ballgames and dearly loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Johnson; son, Don Johnson; grandsons, Jeff Shanks and Brian Henderson Johnson; great grandson, Austin Michael Cooper; parents, John and Nora Dykes; and brothers, Calvin and Fred Dykes.
    She is survived by three daughters, Joan Jaynes and husband, Howard, Joy Byrd and husband, Ronald, and Brenda Shanks and husband, Leroy all of Rogersville; three sons, Billy Johnson, Jack Johnson and wife, Carolyn all of Rogersville, and Randall Johnson and wife, Linda of Whitesburg; 13 grandchildren, Tina, Tammy, Mike, Donna, Karen, Vickie, Greg, Dana, Kristie, Kelly, Tim, Melissa, and Jennifer; 26 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Carpenter Gipson of Elizabethton, and Janelle Beal of Rogersville; brother, Henry Dykes and wife, Ruby of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.
    The family will receive friends any time at the residence of Joan and Howard Jaynes and from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Colboch-Price Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Parrott, Jr. officiating. Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 7, 2010, at Highland Cemetery with Rev. Reed Mitchell officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
    Colboch-Price Funeral Home in Rogersville is serving the Johnson family.
