Stephen J. Saffa, age 100 died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the residence of his daughter, Dorothy A. Wilder, Bulls Gap.
    He was born and lived in Baltimore until age 98. Mr Saffa was a retired manager of the grocery industry.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Myers Saffa; sons, Stephen Saffa, Robert Saffa and William Saffa; parents, John A. and Antonina Kostelska Saffa.
    Survivors include daughters, Dorothy A. Wilder and husband, Larry of Bulls Gap, Dolores M. Blucher of Whiteford, Maryland; son, Richard W. Saffa of Abingdon, Maryland; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
    Calling hours were 3 to 5: p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2010 at the Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair Rd. (Forge Rd.), Nottingham, MD. With a Christian Wake at 3:00 P.M., Monday.  Funeral Mass was celebrated at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Burial followed in Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, Balitmore, Maryland.
