Edna Courtney, age 81 of Clinton, formerly of Rogersville died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Golden Living Center, Clinton after an extended illness.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, R. W. Courtney; parents, John A. and Hattie Trent Johnson.
    Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Weaver and Husband, Tony of Powel; two sons, Rev. Billy Ray Courtney and wife, Patsy of Rogersville and Randall Courtney and wife, Linda of Knoxville; brother, J. A. Johnson and wife, Lottie of Knoxville; eight grandchildren six great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
    Calling hours will be 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville or anytime at the home Rev. Billy Ray and Patsy Courtney.  Funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Billy Ray Courtney officiating. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.  Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 P.M.
